About this League session:
Dr. Bev Browning (THE GRANT DOCTOR) will show you examples of public and private sector grant funding opportunities for community projects. She will also show you how to do a grant readiness assessment and a go/no-go assessment to qualify for or disqualify potential funding opportunities. This session will culminate with what a funding decision-maker looks for in grant requests from municipalities. This session will help you understand time-saving processes and help you bring in more funding for your community. Attendees will have a chance to win a copy of the 2022 edition of Grant Writing for Dummies.
Learning objectives:
- Increased understanding of how to fine-tune a grant research process
- Increased ability to assess the likelihood of winning a grant award (internal and external factors)
- Increased insight into how grant applications are scored and critiqued by funding decision-makers.
About your instructor: Dr. Bev Browning has been presenting for the League for nearly two decades. She has 48 years of experience in the grants industry and 34 years consulting experience with municipalities seeking grants. Dr. Bev is the author of 47 publications, including seven editions of Grant Writing for Dummies, one edition each of Fundraising for Dummies, and Nonprofit Kit for Dummies. She has been an instructor, coach, and mentor to thousands of grant writers.
