Verizon is excited to participate in the FCC’s new Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). This program will enhance accessibility for families and households who are currently struggling to afford internet service and maintain vital connectivity to work, school, healthcare, and more. As elected officials and civic leaders, Verizon wants to ensure you are aware of this new program and support your efforts to disseminate the information to your constituents.
ACP allows eligible households to receive a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Additionally, eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. The Affordable Connectivity Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.
Fortunately, the FCC has made it incredibly easy to share this important news with your constituents and community. The FCC has created a web-based toolkit that contains multiple resources, including posters, handouts, social media posts, website banners, draft letters, and more (https://www.fcc.gov/acp, https://www.fcc.gov/affordable-connectivity-program-consumer-faq, https://www.fcc.gov/acp-consumer-outreach-toolkit). Your staff and community partners can also request handouts and other promotional materials, in multiple languages, directly from the FCC at https://www.fcc.gov/acp.
ACP information can be shared in libraries, schools, town halls, government buildings, universities, on social media platforms, constituent newsletters, and on Channel 11 to reach the widest possible audience.
Verizon is committed to building the networks that move communities forward. We are proud to sponsor the Arizona League of Cities and Towns as a partner to make Arizona the best place to live, work and play!
